NSI (Nutritional Specialities, Inc.), the parent company of the Professional Health Products® brand, was founded by Peter Nudi, Sr. in Pittsburgh in 1978, and continues to be family-owned and operated there to this day. Since it’s start, NSI has believed in partnering directly with doctors, pharmacists, and other licensed healthcare practitioners to deliver innovative nutrition, backed by science, to patients and clients.
Who We Are
Peter Nudi, Sr.
Founder, President, and CEO
Peter started his career with his own office supply and printing business in the early 1970s. He developed excellent relationships with his clients, including a doctor who persuaded him to leave his business for the relatively new world of vitamins and supplements. In 1974, he entered the industry as a regional sales representative for NutriDyn, nutrition-based supplements.
He was so successful that in 1978 he moved on to Seroyal brands. Together, with his wife Kathleen, they founded Nutritional Specialties, Inc, NSI. They started out small, Peter on the road four to five days a week and Kathleen at home with the family, doing the shipping, receiving and invoicing in the evenings. Distributing in five states, they quickly became Seroyal’s largest distributor for over a dozen years.
In 1990 Peter left Seroyal after the sale of the company to ICN Pharmaceuticals to focus on NSI and the development of the Professional Health Products® brand. Peter was motivated by the desire to formulate and produce high-quality supplements for the doctors and healthcare practitioners he had partnered with for the last 15 years. NSI has always been positioned for growth and innovation. That’s why NSI was one of the first companies to import and offer New Zealand glands and tissues. Peter guided the expansion of PHP from a handful of products sold in the United States, to nearly 400 with additional sales in Canada, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Korea, and more.
In constant pursuit of wanting to help others, he was introduced to Robert Miller, CTN, founder of the Nutrigenetic Research Institute. This introduction lead to a collaboration between Peter and Robert, creating PHP’s highly sought after product line, MethylGenetic Nutrition®.
With Peter’s guidance, NSI will continue to grow and drive cutting-edge nutritional innovation that make a difference in peoples’ lives.
